Christmas Ads... do you jump on the sleigh/bandwagon?

Christmas time has huge potential for you to get in front of your target audience as…

  • more people are online buying things right now than at any other time of the year.

  • people are researching and researching for the perfect ideas providing ample opportunities to get in front of them.

  • this year people are also looking to buy from small businesses more than they have previously to support their local businesses through what has been an incredibly trying time.

So, it might seem like a no-brainer to jump on the bandwagon and create your own Christmas themed product or marketing campaign.

For some businesses it really is a no-brainer! Product based businesses for example would benefit from increasing their awareness to get a slice of the advertising (mince) pie!

However, if you are a service-based business this becomes a little harder for people to gift. Again, there are obvious exemptions such as spa treatments or tickets for online events.

So, is it worth it? Can you really be seen and heard among all the noise?

Yes, if you do it right!

If your promotional idea feels a bit of a stretch to you, then it will feel a stretch for your ideal clients too.

Keep it simple.

Create a specific offer that benefits one niche audience or problem - an offer that would benefit them to act on before instead of after Christmas.

OR

Simply highlight one of your services with a view to sign up before Christmas and hit the ground running in the New Year.

A focussed campaign will have a much better bang for your buck during a busy commercial period so focus on one goal, target a niche audience, and communicate the benefits of the offer or service as well as the benefits of acting now.

If you believe in your offer or service, you will ooze confidence and authenticity and attract the right people to you. Just because its Christmas doesn’t mean this has to change!

So, in summary...

YES you can advertise during Christmas even if you don’t usually sell gifts.

Target a NICHE audience.

FOCUS on one goal, service or offer.

Stay AUTHENTIC and bring the right people to you.
